KARACHI: Congregational prayers in Pakistan were limited to a few people only as federal and provincial governments intensified efforts to implement social distancing in the wake of the spread of the novel coronavirus that left eight dead and more than 1,200 infected people.
On Friday morning: The government of Punjab followed the governments of Sindh and Balochistan in issuing an advisory notifying mosques that prayers were to be limited to only three to five individuals, including the administration of the mosque. The order also extended to prayers Friday.
People will pray at home so they don't catch the disease. The Punjab government made the decision in light of the medical experts ' advice in this regard, "the provincial government's advisory announced.
